New patient?

Learn more about your new patient exam at Flow Dental Care!

Congratulations, on scheduling your appointment!

Here's a guide to get the most out of your appointment and what to expect during the exam:

Appointment scheduled

Before the appointment:

Fill and send intake forms

Fill out the Medical & Dental History Forms:

We will review your medical and dental history before the appointment. This helps us understand any health conditions, medications, or past dental work and create better diagnostics and treatment plans for you.

Send previous images and reports (Forms, Previous exams like sleep test, cbct, x-rays must be submitted at least 48h prior to the appointment). Call us if you need help requesting files from your previous dental office.

Without previous images and reports, we might have to use valuable appointment time to better understand your concerns.

Once you submit your intake forms and images, we can add you to the ASAP list, so you can be seen earlier.

IMPORTANT: For children, we always recommend both parents (if applicable) to be present. If you have young infants, it's always helpful to have a companion that can watch them in order to have an uninterrupted conversation with the Dr. Susy.

Send previous images, tests and reports

At the clinic:

We will take high-quality pictures of your mouth. This helps us show you precisely what we see and track any changes over time.

X-rays are also required for a proper assessment - some issues and conditions are impossible to see with the naked eye. We use the latest digital x-ray equipment that reduces exposure by 90% compared to traditional x-rays.

We will always take the least possible amount of radiographic images, according to the patient's age and condition.

Intraoral photos and x-rays

The dentist will thoroughly examine your teeth, gums, and soft tissues. We’ll look for any signs of cavities, gum disease, or other concerns.

During this exam, we also perform a TMJ assessment and look for any abnormalities that might indicate health issues that need further investigation.

Intraoral and extraoral exam

Digital scan*
(when necessary)

For orthodontic treatment or crowns, we will create a 3D model of your mouth. It's more comfortable, faster, and precise than traditional impressions.

Finally, we’ll go over everything together. We will use artificial intelligence to help analyze your x-rays and highlight areas of concern, an intraoral camera will be used to help you understand any issues, to help you make an informed decision. If any treatment is needed, we’ll explain your options and answer all your questions.

A follow-up email with discussed topics, findings and treatment recommendations will be sent to you within 2 to 4 weeks.

If a referral is required, it will be submitted with the doctor's prescription and your consent. Sometimes, finding a perfect fit between patient and provider takes a little longer.

Discussion and next steps
