We can no longer rely on the technology of the past to take us to the future.

We cannot keep treating our mouth as an isolated system that has no relation to the rest of the body.

Start the journey towards a healthier and happier life with us!

Forward Thinking Dentistry.

Your whole body is affected by your mouth, teeth and airway.

Whole-body dentistry is a philosophy of dental practice that recognizes the interconnection between oral health and overall health. It goes beyond treating dental problems in isolation and aims to address the underlying causes of oral health issues that may also affect other parts of the body.

Whole-body dentistry takes into account not only the teeth and gums but also the patient's lifestyle, diet, and overall health. This approach focuses on preventing oral health problems from developing in the first place and promoting overall well-being.

By taking a holistic approach to dental care, whole-body dentistry practitioners strive to improve not only their patients' oral health but their overall health as well.

A dazzling smile - one that helps you look and feel your best - contributes more than you realize to your overall well-being.

You would be surprised to know how many apparently unrelated health issues are actually linked or caused by your mouth, teeth and airway.

Not too long ago, doctors used to recommend cigarettes to improve the health of their patients. We now know that nothing could be further from the truth.

Science advances and dentistry is moving towards a better and broader understanding of how important our mouth, teeth, and airway are in developing our full genetic potential and maintaining a healthy body.

At Flow Dental Care, we look at each case with a systemic and interdisciplinary approach, always based on science, evidence, and research.

Whole body dentistry is about treating the whole person, not just the mouth. We take the time to know all aspects of the patient's habits and concerns, and then explain the findings and the treatment options based on each individual situation.

Our Whole Body approach

Airway Centric

Our airway has a dramatic effect on our overall health and wellness.

A restricted airway limits our body's access to our most needed element - Oxygen.

When this happens, our bodies switch to survival mode, diverting resources from non-essential areas in order to get the oxygen it needs, and creating numerous health issues in the process.

Flow Dental Care offers several different treatments for breathing disorders such as snoring and obstructive sleep apnea, including NightLase and the VIVOS system.

We treat children and adults with Airway-centric Orthodontics, creating a treatment plan customized to each patient, with the goal of correcting breathing disorders while straightening the teeth.

Ozone Therapy

Ozone therapy can decrease the bacterial load on your gums, reduce teeth sensitivity and treat bleeding spots during cleanings and fillings, and also fight infection faster and more efficiently without the use of drugs (it can even avoid a root canal treatment in some cases). We also apply Ozone in root canals to disinfect them.

Our body produces Ozone naturally to fight infection, and Ozone Therapy is an amplification of this natural response. It kills disease while leaving healthy tissue intact, and it's more effective than Chlorine.

Laser Dentistry

A game-changing technology in dentistry.

Laser allows us to be less invasive, preserving more healthy tissue than traditional instruments, since it has an affinity with sick and/or necrotic tissue such as infections and cavities.

The hard tissue laser can be used for many procedures such as fillings and bone surgeries that previously required anesthesia.

For periodontal treatment, we are often replacing incisions and stitches with a much less invasive and comfortable procedure that can have incredible results that are equal or superior to traditional periodontal surgery, with shorter recovery periods.

The latest advance in root canal therapy, TwinLight technology removes infected tissue using acoustic shockwaves that literally wash the root completely out of the tooth leaving the canal system cleaner - drastically reducing the chance of reinfection and toxins leaking into the bloodstream. This procedure is also faster and avoids using harsh chemicals in the tooth, such as bleach.

People who snore and suffer from insufficient sleep are more likely to suffer from chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, depression, and obesity, as well as from cancer, increased mortality, and reduced quality of life and productivity. Notably, snoring is a major indicator of obstructive sleep apnea. The NightLase Snoring Treatment lessens the effects of sleep apnea and decreases or even eliminates the amplitude of snoring. No anesthesia is needed in this treatment.

Laser can also be used to treat gum staining, herpes zoster (shingles), liquen planus, TMJ pain, dental trauma, peri-implantitis, tooth desensitization, tooth whitening, frenectomies and tongue tie releases, gingival recontouring, and many other conditions.

Digital X-Rays

We use digital x-ray devices which reduce the emitted radiation by as much as 90% over traditional x-ray systems, and we always avoid taking unnecessary x-rays.

Our x-ray emits roughly half of the radiation that you get naturally from the environment during a day.

Prevention first

It is time for a paradigm shift in dentistry. It is time to stop reacting to disease and start preventing. As doctors, we want to be healers rather than tooth mechanics.

GBT - Guided Biofilm Therapy

GBT is a Swiss revolution in dental cleaning technology. It's gentle, more effective, faster, and different from traditional scaling, it doesn't scratch the enamel - only biofilm (plaque) is removed. It's the same difference if you were to clean your driveway with a shovel versus using a power washer.

We apply a disclosing agent to dye the biofilm, so the patient can be aware of where more attention is needed when brushing, and it also guides us where to focus the cleaning.

It uses a very fine powder mixed with air and warm water for a more comfortable experience.

CariVu

When we need more frequent cavities monitoring, we can use a radiation-free cavity detection system, which utilizes transillumination technology to illuminate the tooth from the inside and allows us to detect cavities and fractures in hard to see spots, such as in between the teeth. This is great for children, pregnant women and anyone who is concerned about excessive radiation exposure.

SDF

Cavity treatment without the injections?

Yes, please!

There are several situations when freezing or sedation is not possible or desirable due to the risks involved - we always try to avoid sedation on children. We have options that are completely painless and won't stress your little ones.

Biocompatible Materials

We avoid harsh chemicals and toxic materials - our restoration composites are 100% BPA-free. When possible, we always use gentler ingredients that have the same or superior effectiveness and don't harm your body, such as Ozone or Xylitol.

Minimally Invasive Procedures

At Flow Dental Care, we use several techniques to help preserve tooth structure without overuse of “drilling and filling” and other invasive measures.

Just as the word implies, this type of dentistry concentrates on using the least amount of dental intervention to conserve the health of your teeth.

In minimally invasive dentistry, the removal of any part of a tooth structure is kept to only the minimal amount necessary to restore the tooth to its optimum state. This can be done in modern dentistry through the latest scientific advances, such as dental lasers.

The techniques used in minimally invasive dentistry include those that focus on prevention, remineralization, and minimally invasive restoration.

Multidisciplinary Approach

We work closely with a knowledgeable team of Sleep Doctors, ENT (ear, nose, and throat) Specialists, Myofunctional Therapists, Chiropractors, Naturopaths, and other medical specialists.

Dr. Inoue-Cheng also considers your habits, nutrition, health conditions and many other factors during your assessment, and later when prescribing your treatment. Vitamins and minerals are essential to your health and to the successful outcome of any procedure.

Environmentally Conscious

All our materials, products and office equipment are chosen very carefully for your protection and with consideration of our environmental footprint. We choose to reduce packaging, material waste and promote use of recycled materials.
